Mark Hoogendorn (FoCAS Training Coordinator and Joint Chair of the AAMAS 2013 Doctoral Consortium) writes:
The AAMAS DC took place on May 6th in Minneapolis (US) and was a success, we had about 60 participants (among which 3 received support from FoCAS). The program consisted of the following elements:
- Keynote lecture about ethics and publishing strategies
Prof. Maria Gini (University of Minnesota)
- Student presentations (8 oral presentations and 17 poster presentations)
- Career panel (with Mark Body (from Industry); Prof. Catholijn Jonker (Delft University of Technology); Hala Mostafa (Research Company/Industry))
- Small subgroup discussions on applications of their research led by an experiences researcher
In addition, each student was coupled to an individual mentor (doing research in a topic similar to the student’s) who they met during the conference for discussion, networking, etc.
