In this paper, Carlos Melian, a member of the DIVERSIFY ecological board, develops a neutral model (i.e., indepent from the environment, based on purely stochastic birth/mate/death processes) for the evolution of species. This is a major influence for DIVERSIFY, which has lead us to explore the possibility of having a neutral model of software evolution and its influence on diversity emergence and robustness of the system.
